5Perfect for professionals dealing with discontinuous innovationSep 15, 2009
There are very few texts that do a good job dealing with how to convince the market to adopt new technologies. The standard TALC (tech adoption life cycle) texts have serious flaws when it comes to discontinuous technologies. Geoffrey Moore nails it with Crossing the Chasm. If you are an executive or marketing professional introducing high tech products you will be well served by this book. It will help you understand if you cross the line into discontinuous innovation and need to adopt chasm approaches to your customer base. Even if you don't deal with discontinuous products you will learn a lot of the different types of customer demographics encountered by any high tech marketer.

5A guide to understanding company development and growthSep 12, 2009
In financing companies, it is critical to think about the stage and progress of the business. Crossing the Chasm provides a framework to understand some of the key dimensions in the growth and progress of technolgoy based businesses. Kenneth H Marks, lead author of The Handbook of Financing Growth: Strategies, Capital Structure, and M&A Transactions (Wiley Finance)

1crossing the chasmAug 18, 2009
The book arrived in poor condition. Many of the pages of print were missing so pages were glued in. It's poor quality. Some pages were put in crooked, folded over and stained.

4Don't waste time on late adopters - with any new ideaJun 25, 2009
This business book captures in a few pages my over arching outlook on how change happens in the world (and just so happens to be a good way to approach launching high tech innovations).

I refer to it often as a baseline for clients and anyone I am talking to to understand the process they are about to embark upon. This book came out a long time before Malcolm Gladwell popularized similar ideas in The Tipping Point.

I recommend it highly to all my clients so we can agree to speak the same language about product development and the world we are trying to launch a product or change initiative into.

2Too Many Obsolete ReferencesJan 12, 2009
While I found the first 20 or so pages of this book helpful in a general sense, the author made too many references to obsolete or no long existant software companies. Result: If you weren't in high tech in the 90's you might not get much from the examples.
